(WHAS11) -- A Christian Academy alum and current Penn State cheerleader remains in critical condition after falling 39 feet from an apartment building near Penn State's campus.
Paige Raque, 19, is described as a girl who is full of life. Now the Penn State cheerleader is in the fight of her life after falling 5 stories from an apartment window Saturday on Penn State's campus. A family spokesperson says she has severe head trauma from the fall but made significant improvements.
"She obviously has a long haul here. It's day by day. She has shown more signs of response today in opening her eyes and some more movement. So we are very encouraged by that and we appreciate everyone's prayers on Paige's behalf, " said Randy Jepson, the Family spokesperson.
Paige is from Louisville and went to Christian Academy where she was a cheerleader. We are told her parents and brother Parker are by her side.
Christian Academy officials confirm that Paige is a 2011 graduate of Christian Academy and that the Christian Academy family is in prayer.
Police say it appears the fall is accidental and no foul play is suspected. They are still looking into how it happened.
Meantime her brother Parker is using twitter to keep friends across the country updated on her condition. This morning he tweeted "feeling an overwhelming sense of peace in the ICU.Fully aware that god is in control. She has opened her eyes some." It's followed by the hashtag #prayforpaige.
Her family tells us Paige remains in a coma, as of Friday night. We have also learned that her friends and family are coming together to make yellow pins with her picture on it to show support for her recovery.
Police are still investigating how paige fell out that apartment window.
