LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- After almost 90 years in business, the place generations of Louisville home gardeners and farmers turned to for supplies and advice, has suddenly shut down.

The Bunton Seed Company, in the NuLu district on East Jefferson Street has put up the signs saying their retail to the public is now closed.

Another sign explains that their popular garden seeds can now be found at St. Matthews Feed and Seed on Chenoweth Lane.

We started leaving messages two months ago for owner Win Bunton when we heard this could be happening, but he has never returned our calls.

On facebook, Bunton has  posted a note saying "we are sad to leave NuLu, it is a wonderful neighborhood."

Bunton Seed Company was opened by the Bunton family on East Jefferson in 1924.
