(louisvillescience.org) -- The Louisville Science Center is hosting a temporary exhibition featuring vintage hats from its permanent collection. The two-part exhibit, Hats! Reflections in Time, is coordinated by fashion consultant and guest curator Jo Ross and designer Bob Stuecker. The exhibition features two successive displays of more than 50 unique hats that have been refurbished by hat designer Gabriel Amar of Frank Olive Hats in New York.
The hats on display are categorized into 13 distinct groups according to their shape and are on display in the Science Center's Discovery Gallery. Visitors can learn about the science, geometry and skill that went in to these select hats that date from the late 19th century through the 1980's. The hats are part of the Science Center's permanent collection of more than 22,000 fashion and textile items that were donated by Byck's Specialty Store, a now-closed fashion and clothing store in Louisville.
