LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A new bright space at Louisville's Healing Place is benefiting children in need.  Bright Horizons Family Solutions teamed up with the Healing Place to make a room what they call a "bright space."

The room provides a place for children at the shelter to learn, read and have fun.  Susan Brenner  of Bright Horizons says  “We've done over 200 ‘bright spaces’ across the country, in England and Ireland.  I still get chills every time I walk in, because it really represents a place that's good for children."

This is the third bright space in Louisville.  The children's space has books for reading and bonding between mother and child, and the teen room has televisions and a place for young adults to hang out.
