TRIMBLE COUNTY, Ky. (WHAS11) – People living in parts of Trimble County are lending a helping hand to storm victims affected by the March 2 tornado that left the area in ruins.
A benefit concert and festival took place Saturday at Trimble County Park in New Bedford. Musicians and vendors came out for the celebration. Instead of a flat admission rate, donations were accepted at the door.
All of the money goes to victims of the storm, including the Milton Volunteer Fire Department which suffered several losses.
“Well this will surely help out and we have other donations that are coming in,” said Vicki McQueary, the president of the Milton Fire Department.
McQueary also mentioned that they will have to take out a loan to get their fish fry trailer repaired and operating again because it raises about half of their operating budget.
Insurance money will cover the loss of their fire station and fire engine.
