(WHAS 11)-Mayor Jerry Abramson will be in Washington D.C. Thursday night to receive an honor for Louisville.
The Louisville Metro Government is being recognized as an Energy Star Partner of the Year.
Louisville was chosen for the reward by the Environmental Protection Agency for the Kilowatt Crackdown Program. The program encourages local businesses and schools to make strides in becoming energy efficient.
Abramson will also be the keynote speaker at the ceremony in D.C. Thursday night.
