Snow showers expected Sunday morning

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for parts of Kentuckiana
Sunday Evening

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for parts of Kentuckiana from 2 a.m. Sunday until 10 a.m. Sunday.  Rain showers overnight will change to snow as the front passes.  Rain will change to snow from northwest to southeast between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m.

Snow showers will likely move out of the area by later morning between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.  Since we have been warm in the 50s and are experiencing widespread rain, most of the snow will accumulate on colder elevated surfaces.  Roads are expected to stay mainly wet.  Areas along and south of the river will mainly get around a half inch or less of accumulation with a few areas seeing potentially around an inch.  Areas to the northwest, where we see the changeover happen sooner have the potential to get slightly more snow.

Temperatures will continue to fall Sunday afternoon into the 20s and will drop to the teens into Monday morning.  We bring in another round of snow on Tuesday where additional light accumulation will be possible.  Keep it here, on Facebook, Twitter, as well as good morning Kentuckiana for the latest updates.
