Chilly air has once again made its way back into Kentuckiana behind a departing cold front so get set for a cool Thursday. With a few clouds hanging around for the first part of the day and a brisk northwest wind, afternoon highs will only top out in the low to mid-50s, a good 15 degrees plus below average for mid to late April. As skies clear out tonight, temperatures will take a tumble so a frosty start is expected Friday morning with lows into the upper 20s and low 30s. A Frost Advisory is out for the central and southern parts of Kentuckiana with Freeze Warnings for the northern and eastern parts of the viewing area. Plan on protecting those tender plants with the frosty start expected Friday morning. Even though temperatures will remain a little unseasonable cool to close out the week Friday and heading into this weekend, our weather looks tranquil, dry and pleasant for Thunder over Louisville.

Under mostly sunny skies on Saturday, highs will reach the mid-60s so it looks good for both the airshow and fireworks display with temperatures dropping back into the 50s by Saturday evening. The end of the weekend should stay dry with highs in the mid-60s before we keep an eye on another storm system that looks to pass by to our south. Even though the bulk of the precipitation will stay down south, some upper level energy on the north side of the low may help produce a few showers into early next week. The best chance of rain looks to be on Tuesday and Wednesday, but a few showers can’t be ruled out Monday, especially across Southern Kentucky. Have a great Thursday!
