Man killed in hit-and-run crash on Newburg Rd.

Police said a vehicle heading north on Newburg Rd. hit a man and kept going. A description of the vehicle is not available at this time.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) are investigating after a man was killed in a hit-and-run crash Friday morning.

According to LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell, officers responded to a report of a crash involving a pedestrian on Newburg Rd. near Gardiner Ln. around 7 a.m.

From their preliminary investigation, police believe a vehicle heading north on Newburg Rd. hit the man and kept going. The driver of the vehicle did not stop to help.

The man, whose identity has not been released, died at the scene.

The LMPD Traffic Unit is investigating. A description of the vehicle is not available at this time.
