(INDY STAR) -- Indiana University will announce the dismissal of football coach Kevin Wilson at a news conference at 6 this evening, according to sources in the athletic department.
Sources have confirmed to IndyStar a team meeting is scheduled for 5:15 p.m.
In six seasons, Wilson led IU to two bowl berths and four-straight wins over Purdue, a streak unmatched since 1947.
After guiding IU to its first bowl game since 2008, he signed a new six-year contract signed last offseason upping his pay to an average of approximately $2.5 million per season.
Wilson leaves Indiana after his second-consecutive 6-6 regular season, and the program's first back-to-back bowl appearances since 1990-91. Wilson had a 26-47 overall record at IU, and despite his recent success, he never concluded a campaign in Bloomington with a winning record.
