LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) – The long-awaited location for the city's new soccer stadium will be announced Wednesday in Butchertown.

Local business leaders in Butchertown said the stadium will be built in the area of Cabel and Adams streets, right near the interstates.

The soccer club currently plays at nearby Slugger Field.

Developers in the area said they are more than excited that it appears the Louisville City FC soccer club has chosen the Butchertown neighborhood for the site of its new stadium.

The club's president has long been on record that he wanted the stadium within eyesight of the interstate system.

WHAS11 contacted Louisville City FC and they would not comment on the location.
