Roughly 1,400 people in the Highlands are without power after a TARC bus struck a power pole Thursday morning.

MetroSafe said they received a call before 8 a.m. reporting a TARC bus striking a utility pole in the 2400 block of Bardstown Road. The bus was the only vehicle involved and no injuries were reported.

Bardstown Road will be shut down from Taylorsville Road to Weber Avenue until around noon while officials work to clear the scene. Both LG&E and Louisville Metro Police were reported on scene.

According to LG&E's outage map, a little less than 1,400 customers were without power in the Highlands-Douglass area. Restoration is expected by 9:30 a.m.

Liz Pratt, a spokeswoman for LG&E, said that the power line and support wires came down. Some of the equipment was damaged and workers on-scene are making repairs.

No information on the cause of the crash was immediately available.
