LOUISVILLE (WHAS) -- Shelby Traditional Academy placed on lockdown Thursday, Oct. 19, after shots were within yards of the school's campus.

Two people say they were working on their car when the saw a man walking with a rifle. At that point, they say police ran from behind the school and started shooting.

Police have not confirmed whether officers fired any shots at this point. Police said two people were arrested in connection to this incident. Shots were reported around 11 a.m. near Shelby Traditional. The school was on lockdown while police located the two men they arrested. One of those men did have a rifle.

No one was injured. Police are still at the scene, near the school, investigating.
