LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- A rally is being held outside of the Louisville Marriot East where Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is addressing the Jeffersontown chamber of commerce.

This was just one of his first public events since returning from Washington after President Donald Trump took office.
Dozens of people are protesting outside the hotel. They are voicing their opposition to the Trump administration and the agenda Republicans plan to push through Congress.

Many of the protesters say they plan to continue demonstrating at McConnell speeches and town hall meetings indefinitely.

WHAS11’s Political Editor Chris Williams will have updates on Facebook, Twitter and our evening newscasts.

On Tuesday, Feb. 21, McConnell addressed the Anderson Co. Chamber of Commerce. That speaking event was also met with protests.
