LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) – It’s an annual tradition of giving back. On the Thursday and Friday before Christmas local labor unions are packing 1,300 boxes of love to help brighten the holidays.
The packages are going to be handed out to military families, veterans, victims of violence identified by LMPD, and lots of other families in need throughout Louisville.
The Christmas Angel program is put together by UAW Ford and other local unions. They provide the funds and volunteers to make it all possible.
Most of the packaging and delivery of most of the meals will happen early Friday, but volunteers got a head start with 400 boxes on Thursday. That's because this year they have even more meals to hand out than years past.
