LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A discussion about race and violence in the city has brought out new voices joining the conversation.

WHAS Radio, 93.1 The Beat and the Louisville Urban League teamed up for Tuesday night’s talk.

Police Chief Steve Conrad was on hand to answer questions about police behavior. Other speakers on the panel included Dr. Kevin Cosby of St. Stephen Church and Dr. Ricky Jones from the University of Louisville.

There were heated moments with questions over police-involved shootings and dealing with the issue of race in society.

“We’ve got to work through these issues we have – people listening to this who haven’t been engaged. We are bringing a new audience and we cannot afford to lose the audience,” Saddiqa Reynolds, Urban League Director, said.

Great Day Live’s Terry Meiners served as moderator during the discussion.
