LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The UofL Trustees passed a vague resolution about their next step following the scathing Foundation forensic audit.

Once the meeting was out of executive session the trustees would only say that the resolution was to allow its lawyers to try to reach a "resolution" with those from the University Foundation.

It's unclear whether this is to reach a settlement following questionable financial dealings, whether they plan to join forces and sue someone, or another option. The trustees’ chairman wouldn't budge when asked for details.

The process to hire a new president will be closed to the public. The trustees themselves will be the only ones who know the candidates’ identities or meet with those vying to replace Doctor James Ramsey.

They plan to advertise the position starting next week and will release an ad in national education publications.
