Louisville, KY (WHAS 11) - Three school buses were involved in an accident Thursday morning according to MetroSafe.
The crash happened at Dixie Highway and Blanton Lane. At this time, southbound Dixie Highway is closed at Blanton Lane.
The preliminary investigation reveals that 2 of the buses were stopped in traffic, when a third bus that could not stop in time struck the rear end of one of the buses causing it to rear end the bus in front of it. The LMPD 3rd Division is investigating the incident.
At the scene, we are hearing up to 30 students with minor injuries. There are no reports of any injuries to the drivers of the buses.
The three buses involved are 1267, 0558 and 1060 with students from PRP, Stuart and Frost. District leaders and school staff are present on the scene and working on communicating information to families at this time.
If parents want to pick up their kids, there is a reunification site set up across the street at Jeff Wyler Chevrolet at 5340 Dixie Hwy, School officials have sent communications to parents already with that information as well.
