Rising country music artist Sarabeth Swagerty will join Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana for a special sing-a-long as troops and volunteers prepare for the start of cookie season. Swagerty will lead troops in singing one of her songs, "Girl Scout Cookie Monster," which pays tribute to this special time of the year.

Swagerty, volunteers and “The Cookie Monster” will fire up the troops February 18. The sing-a-long starts at 9 a.m., and will be followed immediately by the distribution of hundreds of thousands of cookies to the thousands of troops registered to pick up their orders. It's all taking place at the Berger Allied Warehouse, 3410 Robards Court, in Louisville.

For more than 100 years, Girl Scouts of Kentuckian has focused on helping to build girls of confidence, courage and the character. The Girl Scout Cookie program supports this goal by teaching girls valuable business and leadership skills, including money management, goal setting, customer service and team building.

Local Girl Scout Cookie booths will run February 23 through March 13 at area stores, malls, businesses and other public venues. Click here to find the nearest cookie booth.
