LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) - Louisville is known as a foodie town, and that will be on full display Wednesday night.

The 43rd Taste of Louisville features nearly 60 different food and beverage vendors.

The event gives people a chance to sample a little bit of everything while also giving back to the community. Part of the ticket sales will go to local charities. There will also be a silent auction to benefit them.

“This year, we partnered with Seven Counties Services and Harbor House of Louisville. Both of which do amazing things for people in our community. We love being able to give back through this event,” event planner Ina Miller said.

Organizers said this annual tradition is a great way to highlight the best of the best in the Derby City.

“That’s one of the goals obviously is to promote the restaurants in our city. We have such a great community of food and beverage, and we really love being able to put them on a pedestal and showcase them,” Miller said.

It takes more than 120 volunteers to make the event a reality. Organizers also want to thank Gordon Food Service for sponsoring this year’s Taste of Louisville.

Tickets can still be purchased for $65 at the door. Taste of Louisville starts at 6:00 p.m. at Bowman Field.

Parking is free, but guests must be 21 to attend the event.
