LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – There will be a lot going on as Friday approaches.

Not only is it St. Patrick’s Day, which brings hundreds out to local bars, but a couple of big basketball games are also going on that day.

Both the Louisville Cardinals and Kentucky Wildcats are playing in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

If you have something bothersome like work getting in the way, the people at the Sports and Social Club at 4th Street Live are inviting everyone to play hooky that day and come down to have a good time while watching the games as we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

“Everybody needs a personal day every once in a while. So we said ‘what’s that like?’ It’s like being back in school. We’re going to play hooky. You’re going to come in and hang out with us. We’re going to party all day. It’s going to be a big party celebration for everyone that follows U of L and UK,” Justin Green, 4th Street Live operations executive, said.

The Cardinals tip off at 2:45 p.m. on Friday against Jacksonville State and the Wildcats are scheduled to tip off against Northern Kentucky at 9:30 p.m.
