LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The final resting place of Louisville’s Greatest, Muhammad Ali at Cave Hill Cemetery has had a steady stream of daily visitors, and now his grave site marker is nearly complete.

The final landscaping and other touches will be complete on Monday and Lonnie Ali plans to have a statement about the gravesite later this week.

The large plot is not only for the boxing champ and humanitarian who died in June, but for his entire family.

The black granite stone came from Africa and reads, "service to others is the rent you pay for your room in heaven."
