LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The Louisville Rescue Mission spent the day treating the homeless with fried turkey and music as part of their Mission Possible

Country star Tracy Lawrence started the effort in Nashville and this year it's in Louisville. The day began with volunteers frying turkeys at the mission in NuLu. Those turkeys were part of a special lunch for the homeless.

Only half of the fried turkeys were carved. The other half will be sold to the community with the money also benefiting the mission's efforts to feed and help the homeless.

A benefit concert will be held the Mercury Ballroom with the proceeds going to the Mission.
