LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Getting around downtown Louisville will soon be a lot easier with the launch of the LouVelo bike share program this spring.
Three hundred bikes will be positioned at 28 bike share stations in downtown, Old Louisville, NuLu, and near Waterfront Park.
The service makes bikes available to people for short-term use. You'll be able to pick up a bike at one station and then return it to any other station in the system.
Mayor Greg Fischer says LouVelo is another way Louisville is growing its network of cycling facilities, making it easier and safer to get around the city on two wheels.
An official launch date is expected soon.
