LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS 11)--Senior citizens and disabled individuals can start applying for heating assistance in Louisville!

The Low-income Home Energy Assistance program or LIHEAP will start accepting applications Oct.3.

Its all in an effort to help some residents pay their utility bills.

You'll need proof of all household income for September, social security cards of every member in the household, and your current heating bill.

Applications will be available at the Newburg Community center from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
