LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Former University of Louisville President James Ramsey is asking a judge to dismiss the school's lawsuit against him.

UofL and its foundation filed the lawsuit against Ramsey and several others claiming they fraudulently appropriated and diverted funds in the foundation for personal gain.

New court documents show Ramsey's legal team is arguing the university doesn't have standing because the case involves foundation money and the foundation's claims are outside the statute of limitations.

Ramsey has previously denied the allegations against him.
