LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- The SWAT situation has ended in Salem, Ind.
A SWAT team had surrounded a stretch of Franklin School Rd. after a domestic situation escalated early Thursday morning.
Multiple law enforcement agencies from Southern Indiana assisted the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
A spokesperson for Indiana State Police says it began as a domestic situation between a man and a woman before 5 a.m. The woman did get out of the house before the SWAT situation ended. It was originally reported the man had barricaded himself inside the home; unclear if the man was armed.
The man was taken into custody around 11:30 a.m.
Crisis and hostage negotiators were on site during the situation.
There is no word on charges at this time.
