North Vernon, Ind. (WHAS11) - An elementary school in Indiana is one of five finalist in a contest to win a new playground.

They are the only finalist from the surrounding states. The other schools are in Missouri, Wisconsin and two are in New York.

In order to win, North Vernon must get most of the online votes before March 15.

Everyone 18 and older can cast a vote daily online at Culterelle's website.

Nicole Johnson, the principal at North Vernon Elementary, said, "Our school is really in need of a playground." She said a lot of the equipment they had was so old, they had to get rid of it.

"We need to update (the playground equipment) to be accessible to all of our students," she added.
