LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Crews are still working to clean up a wreckage on I-265 in southern Indiana that happened Friday evening.
The westbound lanes of I-265 are back open but the eastbound lanes remain closed while crews work to remove a fuel tanker.
Just after 5 p.m. Frtiday the section of I-265 between Grantline Road all the way to I-65 was shut down completely when a tanker truck carrying 87,000 gallons of gasoline overturned at the Charlestown exit when it collided with a van. No one was hurt.
Police shut down I-265 for safety reasons while crews worked through the night to clear the wreckage.
The cleanup operation is still ongoing and has lasted more than 12 hours.
Indiana State Police tell us they expect to have the truck removed completely within the next hour, but I-64, I-65 and the Lewis and Clark Bridge remain open.
