LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- One of the people accused of assaulting a protester at a Donald Trump Trump campaign rally in Louisville says he acted because Trump incited the crowd to remove the protesters.

Alvin Bamberger says if he is found liable for his actions that Trump or the Trump campaign should pay the damages.

Bamberger is accused of shoving the protester as she was leaving the rally. He argues in the cross claim that the woman was not injured by his actions.

Three people claim they were assaulted by audience members who were riled up by Trump.

Earlier this month a federal judge in Louisville said in a ruling that then-candidate Trump incited the use of violence against the protesters.

Bamberger said public statements by Trump promised to pay the legal expenses of people who were helping remove the anti-Trump element.
