LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – It’s not something you see every day – a house on wheels.
For more than 140 years, the Mills-Stout House has sat on Seatonville Road in southeast Jefferson County but it won’t be there for much longer.
Crews have positioned supportive wheels underneath the home which has been sectioned into two parts.
Officials say it’s all in preparation for its move down the road.
“Today, it looks pretty rough but we have a vision that maybe this will be something like a Huber’s one day to the Parklands. You’ll come through this area and we’ll have a lot of opportunities for vendors and some commercial agricultural areas,” Steve Henry, Future Fund President, said.
MSD purchased the property where the home currently sits, leading to the move in order to preserve it.
They’re waiting for temperatures to drop back down and the ground to firm up before making the move.
