LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A site where many go to remember loved ones in a west Louisville neighborhood will soon receive upgrades.

The Garden of Angels, a memorial garden erected after four teen boys who were killed in a car accident in December 2008, has grown into a peaceful place for families to honor homicide victims.

Mayor Greg Fischer with other community leaders in tow unveiled a new design plan for the site that includes major landscaping upgrades.

Koetter Construction of New Albany is the landscaping company helping to bring the new design to life.

“The biggest thing we’ll do all we can do. We’ll put it together. All I ask you do is help take care of it for the memory, for the ones that we have lost. Let’s do it for them.”

The unveiling was part of Mayor Fischer’s Give a Day Week of Service which runs through April 24.
