LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – After the recent public outcry of the city’s recent clearing of homeless camps, officials plan to make an announcement on Monday.
The news conference, scheduled to take place at 2:30 p.m. at Metro Hall, will discuss policies and procedures for homeless encampments. No other details were given.
Mayor Greg Fischer and local advocates for the homeless will be on hand for the announcement.
The city received backlash in late November when a homeless camp was cleared without notice and several lost their belongings.
In a Dec. 8 WHAS11 News story, police stressed they weren’t taking anyone’s home but to clean up trash in an unhealthy environment.
