LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- Butler High School students are planning a new event to help out The Wounded Warrior Project.

The Louisville high school's Junior ROTC program is launching their first-ever color run this weekend.

The students say they are always looking for ways to bring the community together and give back and planned this fundraiser.

It's a color run, so you will get powder and dye thrown on you, dress accordingly. The students say they are excited for people to come out.

“Our program has always done a lot of stuff with Wounded Warrior Project. Most of our fundraisers have a percentage for them so to me it's like they are our veterans and we are an ROTC program,” said Selina Perla, with Butler’s JROTC.

The Color Run takes place this Saturday, March 10, at Butler High School. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and the run kicks off at 10 a.m. There will be a chili cook-off and craft sale.
