LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The Bullitt County judge-executive has named a new interim sheriff.
Donnie Tinnell had previously served as sheriff for the county from 2007 to 2010 but is still on the force.
He becomes the interim sheriff replacing Dave Greenwell who is retiring early. His last day on the job was Tuesday.
The Courier-Journal reported Greenwell was being sued by a former colleague who claims he was fired for investigating alleged illegal activity by Greenwell. Greenwell has denied the accusations.
An election for sheriff will be held in 2018.
