Teen suspect on HIP in parade shooting charged with murder

Jeremiah Carter, 16, was on home incarceration in October 2017 when police say he shot his neighbor to death after an argument.

A teenager who was accused in the 2016 Pegasus Parade shooting in downtown Louisville was recently indicted in a murder case that occurred while the teen was on home incarceration, the WHAS 11 News iTeam has learned.

A Jefferson County grand jury returned the murder indictment for Jeremiah Carter in January 2018.

Police and prosecutors claim in court records Carter, 16, shot his neighbor, Kontar Roberson, 37, after an argument on October 9, 2017 in front of Carter's California neighborhood home.

Records show Carter, who was being monitored through the youth version of the home incarceration program, removed his ankle monitor around the same time police said the deadly shooting occurred.

Carter is currently being held at a juvenile detention center serving a 15 year prison sentence for the parade shooting. In February 2018, Carter pleaded guilty to assault, wanton endangerment, stolen gun and drug charges.
