LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Neighbor Ronald Board didn’t know what was happening, but he knew it wasn’t good.

“Terrible. Terrible. Too many murders,” he said.

Monday afternoon he saw a man handcuffed and being walked through his backyard by police.

“I was just wondering what was going on ‘cause at the time, I didn’t know and this is what we’re seeing happen and the next thing I know, they are taking him away,” he said.

What Board saw was a suspect in custody after a killing in Shively.

“With the help from the victim, there was a victim alive in this case. When officers got on the scene, they quickly started talking,” Detective Ricky Guffey, Shively Police, said.

One man was stabbed and survived and girlfriend, killed.

Police first got a call about a man and woman down in the street on Neblett Road.

When they got there, they saw the double stabbing victims. Police say a man they lived with attacked them.

“It’s shocking to everybody. It’s not something that doesn’t happen all the time in Shively,” Detective Guffey said.

Neighbors tried to give medical aid to the victims, according to police.

For Ronald Board, he says it was pretty bad and worse than he ever imagined.
