LMPD officer reassigned amid child abuse charges

The complaint says Ofc. Dudley became angry when his children overcooked macaroni and cheese in the microwave filling the house with smoke.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- An LMPD officer has been reassigned and is facing charges of assault and child abuse.

According to a criminal complaint summons Officer Christopher Dudley allegedly hit his two children ages 6 and 9 with a belt several times leaving bruises on their bodies.

The complaint says Dudley became angry when his children overcooked macaroni and cheese in the microwave filling the house with smoke.

Dudley admitted to the children's mother that he did beat the children.

LMPD's public integrity Unit is investigating.
