LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- One of the two Grayson County teens accused of going on a multi-state crime spree is back in Kentucky and appeared in a courtroom to answer to charges on Thursday, Jan. 22.

Dalton Hayes pleaded not guilty to the charges he is facing in Grayson County. Those charges include burglary in the third degree, theft by unlawful taking of $10,000 or more, custodial interference, criminal mischief in the first degree, criminal trespassing in the third and second degree rape. Hayes is also facing two warrants in Breckinridge County.

Hayes was crying when he entered the courtroom.

The judge set his bond at $250,000 cash.

His next court appearance is on Jan. 29 at 1 p.m.

Teen in crime spree: Abusive family was motive for running

According to jail records authorities in Florida released 18-year-old Dalton Hayes from their custody. The Grayson County Sheriff hoped to get the teens back to Kentucky by the end of the week.

Hayes and his 13-year-old girlfriend were arrested in Panama City Beach, Florida after two weeks of being on the run.
