LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Three people were sent to the hospital after shots were fired on 12th and Hill Street in the Park Hill neighborhood.

"I know something bad is going on somewhere but I didn't know that Dallas would be getting shot like that," said Mohammed Ekhalii, who works at the convenient store next door to where the shooting happened.

He's referring to one of the victims who was just an innocent bystander that was doing his job.

According to police, he was shot in the back of a convenient store by a stray bullet that went through the glass doors of the Save More Mart he worked at, all while gunfire was being exchanged across the street.

"It's really bad, it's really dangerous neighborhood around here," said Ekhalii.

This is the second triple shooting to happen this week. The other took place a few blocks away at College Court where two more innocent bystanders were sent to the hospital while bullets were flying.

"It just hurts my heart for another shooting in this community and more people injured, it just hurts my heart," said Councilman David James who serves this district.

Police say all three victims are expected to survive. They believe the other two victims did know each other, but no arrests have been made.

"It's sad for our community that we're having to see this. We're out here trying to put a stop to this and hopefully, the community can come together as do that together," said Lt. Emily McKinley with LMPD.
