LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- The West End School for Boys got some high-tech treats courtesy of Amazon on April 19.
The company donated several items including 16 Kindle Fire tablets as a part of the mayor's Give a Day Week of Service.
Those tablets are equipped with thousands of kid-friendly books, movies, TV shows, educational apps, and games.
"When I came here five years ago the library was in one of the classrooms and we didn't have a lot of books. They were all very used books and the boys love to read, so this is huge for them. Most of the books we get are donated and we do buy books every year but this is gonna be huge blessing to us,’ Lavina Hawkins, Lower School Principal, said.
The tablets will be kept in the library for the younger students, grades kindergarten through fifth.
