LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – What was once a home turf for the Victory Park Crips in the 1990’s has finally turned around.
After years of planning and hundreds of thousands of dollars in investment from Metro Government and the Olmstead Conservancy and thousands of hours of work, Victory Park’s renovation is finally complete.
Many of the upgrades include a walking path and new lighting.
“They have totally embraced that park – totally embraced the people that have been working over there. Many times I’d be over there and they would bring food and water out to the workers because they are just so proud of what’s happening,” Metro Councilman David James said.
The grand opening is scheduled for Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. that will feature projects the public can help with to keep the park beautiful.
Tools and gloves will be provided.
