Minister launches community newspaper 'Colors' geared towards west Louisville

Writer Anthony Gaines II says it’s an effort to give a voice to those who feel they are not being heard.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A new community newspaper will hit the streets, geared towards residents who live and work in west Louisville.

Launched by local minister Gerome Sutton, “Colors” officially launched Friday.

Writer Anthony Gaines II says it’s an effort to give a voice to those who feel they are not being heard.

“Everything in this paper is mainly going to talk about west of 9th street. A lot of people feel that part of town doesn't get that much of a voice or platform to tell stories from their point of view,” he said.

For $1, you can buy your copy from independent contractors with .50 cents going toward the next edition.
