Weyland Ventures buys NuLu church for a major commercial transformation

Louisville-based business will be expanding its footprint in NuLu with the purchase of a church.

LOUISVILLE (LBF) -- Louisville-based Weyland Ventures is set to expand its footprint along Market Street in NuLu with the purchase and transformation of a longstanding church.

And developers say the building could become a magnet in the popular edge neighborhood near downtown Louisville.

Weyland Ventures recently purchased the church at 600 E. Market St. owned by Refuge in Kentucky Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith Inc. for an undisclosed amount, according to a news release. A deed recording the transaction was not immediately available for view Friday at the Jefferson County Clerk’s Office.

The church is home now to the 41-year-old Refuge in Kentucky Church, itself an offshoot of the nearly 100-year-old Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, which is based in New York City.
