Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - As part of the new JCPenney Kids Zone program, kids are invited into all JCPenney stores December 16 to decorate a holiday ornament.

This fun and free craft will take place in the kids department from 11 a.m. to noon. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Each month, JCPenney will host a new project as part of the Kid Zone program. Other upcoming hands-on projects include making a Valentine’s Day card holder on January 20, creating a mosaic bird house on February 17, and decorating Easter eggs on March 10. Advance sign up is not required.

Kids receive a collectible pin for every project they finish. And after each event, adults will receive a special 10 percent off coupon to use in-store on the day of the event. This coupon can be used in addition to current marketing promotions for maximum savings.

Please let your viewers know about this exciting, festive activity in local JCPenney stores in your market. Consider sharing this with your anchors for on-air chatter or including in community calendars and local event round ups.
