Local non-profit delivering health and hope around the world

The 2018 Bourbon + Band Aids is being held Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM at The Olmsted located at 3701 Frankfort Avenue in Louisville, KY.

Hospitals in the United States create an average of 6 million tons of medical waste each year, much of it unused and under-used medical supplies and equipment. Supplies Over Seas is an organization that partners with hospitals to take the supplies and ship them to medically impoverished communities. The local non-profit has teamed up with local distilleries to host “Bourbon and Band Aids”, a “roaring 20s”-themed fundraiser with proceeds benefiting Supplies Over Seas to help them meet critical health care needs in developing countries around the world by recovering and redistributing surplus medical supplies and equipment that would otherwise go into our local landfills. Tim Tomes is here with details on the benefit, along with Paul Heintzman who mixes up one of the event’s signature cocktails, “The Bee’s Knees”.
