Checkout this week’s “Pick 6” for events and activities going on around town for March 17-19:
1-The Arts Council of Louisville will recognize Women’s History Month by hosting a conference to honor women in the community. It will take place on March 18 from 9am-3pm at Hotel Louisville, 120 West Broadway. For tickets call 502-567-2787.
2- KMAC Museum presents a new solo exhibition, Fern Canyon, featuring a selection of drawings and paintings by artist Claire Sherman, including the recent KMAC acquisition "Tree", 2016. KMAC will host an artist talk during which Sherman will speak about her career and process at the museum on March 18 at 3 pm the third floor gallery.
3-On Friday, March 17 it’s Shamrocked at Fourth Street Live. It’s premier St. Patrick's Day celebration is a team of 5 or more will move through various venues for what they call a bar crawl with games and activities in each. The free event begins at 2 pm.
4-The Speed Art Museum will introduce a new collection starting March 17th. It’s Southern Elegy: Photography from the Stephen Reily Collection. It runs through September 24th. For additional information go to www.speedmuseum.org.
5-The 5 Star Barber Shop, 10301 Taylorsville Road will host a charity event on March 19th from 12p-4p. The event will benefit the March of Dimes.
6-It’s the Rodes City Run 10K on March 18. You may only register at the Rodes City Run Late Registration/Packet Pickup at Louisville Slugger Field on March 17 from 11 am to 7 pm. The late fee is $45.
