Whitney joined the WHAS11 team in June 2014 as a news and sports reporter.
Before moving to Louisville, Whitney was the sports director in Midland/Odessa, Texas at KOSA-TV. She experienced the real "Friday Night Lights" first-hand for three years and covered numerous other major sporting events, such as the 2013 NBA Finals, the Boston Marathon Bombings, MLB Spring Training and Cowboys and Texans Training Camps.
Whitney's passion lies in telling stories about athletes that can hit home with sports fans and non-sports fans alike. Her "Girl Power" series in Odessa won Best Specialty/Beat Reporting in 2013 from the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters.
Whitney received her undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas and her master's degree from Northwestern University.
Most of her life was spent doing gymnastics as she was a high-level gymnast at the age of 10. She received a full scholarship to North Carolina State University but had to retire after a year due to a back injury.
Whitney is a die-hard college basketball fan and is excited to live in a city where people understand that March is the best month of the year. She loves running, boxing or finding other ways to exercise and get outside.
She's also excited to take on the restaurant scene in Louisville and get to know the community.
