Louisville man ID'd as New Albany shooting victim
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A man has been identified after a shooting Sunday morning in New Albany, Indiana.
The victim has been identified as 33-year-old Eddie “Bernard” Hamilton.
Officers responded to the area of Charlestown Road near Old Ford Road after reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Hamilton’s body outside near the Marathon station.
Police are reassuring the public that the shooting is an isolated incident.
“New Albany continues to be a safe community with a very low rate of violent crime. The preliminary investigation into this case shows it to be isolated in a very safe location," New Albany Police Chief Todd Bailey said.
Police do not have any suspects at this time.
